E-NEWSLETTER |
JUNE 2007

 |
Welcome back to the newsletter from Strategic Connections Inc. After a long hiatus the publication has been reborn and given the new name: The Orange Chair. In the past you have enjoyed interesting articles and updates surrounding the subjects of communications, change, engagement and leadership. We will continue to bring these to you but have even more to offer. You may be thinking “How can this be? The old newsletter had everything I could ever want!” Well, for one, you have a new editor, I, Dana Deschene, am a grad of Simon Fraser University. Ken, Jen and Nicky, who you are no doubt familiar with, have taken me under their collective wing and are trying to teaching me all the wisdom they have stockpiled- not an easy task I might add.
Since the last edition of the newsletter much has happened at Strategic Connections Inc.
Last October we were fortunate to add Jennifer Davis to the Strategic Connections team. Jennifer is armed with a wealth of knowledge surrounding strategic designs for engaging and inspiring employees. The combination of her experience in service delivery, communications and change has allowed her to provide clients with the utmost expertise and has achieved outstanding results. We are thrilled to have her on our team and know that you will feel the same way should you have the chance to work with her.
Another new development since the last newsletter is that Strategic Connections Inc has become the Canadian licensees of a great new offering called The Storytellers, which helps employees to understand the journey that an organisation is on, to believe in it, and feel ownership.
We are also very excited to roll out our much anticipated new Website containing all the old features plus much more including an online store where you can access resources for organizational change and communication planning. Another new and exciting aspect included on the site is a blog, which will allow you to enter into the depths of the minds of those here at Strategic Connections Inc.
So, you may be wondering, "Why the Orange Chair?" Often times in the business world it is easy to find success in being dependable- employers want people who will do the work promptly and effectively. But the greatest success stories come from people who defied the norms and rejected all things standard. This is a treacherous path to follow and only the brave will dare to welcome difference and encourage change. Strategic Connections is one such distinctive company, we stand apart in this industry and praise our unique outlook. We are not afraid to be different and encourage it in each other. The Orange Chair is a symbol of the difference encapsulated in us here and the value of diverse ideas and standpoints.
So, have a seat in our orange chair, and find out what is new with Strategic Connections Inc. and the ever changing world of communications and engagement. And as always, please feel free to write me or any one of us at Strategic Connections Inc.
Cheers,
Dana
Editor, The Orange Chair

What's New

Last summer Strategic Connections Inc was approached by a company in the UK called TheStoryellers. They were using a new and exciting process to explain the journey the company is on and to engage employees and align their actions with company values. Strategic Connections immediately saw the merits of this process and a partnership was quick to follow. On May 24th of this year the Canadian version of TheStorytellers hit the ground running and we haven’t looked back yet.
