Phase One: Initial Engagement
Create the Journey
Our StoryMap is a key navigational tool that enables us to simplify the strategy or vision, focusing on key messages, cutting out jargon and complexity, and linking them in a series of 'chapters' that represent why the journey is important, what the business is trying to achieve and the priorities on which people really need to focus.
Each chapter is then brought to life through a series of illustrative stories - real-life human experiences about employees or customers that give it meaning and help connect the audience to the journey, both rationally and emotionally.
Once signed off by the key stakeholders, the StoryMap will be given a powerful visual identity which creates impact, reflects the essence of the brand and the storytelling campaign as a whole.
Engage The Leadership
We believe that the leadership must become architects, not just messengers, of the Story if they are to fully commit to the Story themselves before engaging their teams in it.
So when the story is presented to them for the first time, our session focuses on co-creation. We encourage them to explore both their and their teams' role in the journey and what they need to do to move it forward, offering their own stories to help contextualise the StoryMap.
The Story will then become relevant and personal to their function or region as they start to build their response. Sometimes we create different, localised versions of the Story as a result of this 'interrogation', and will not allow the Story to go out to their teams until they understand and have bought into it fully.
Engage the Organisation
Using the principles of storytelling combined with proven methodologies such as Appreciative Inquiry, we have developed some unique engagement sessions during which the leaders will engage their teams in the Story and start to interpret what the Story means to them and how they can be involved.
And to make life easy for them, we will equip leaders with a whole range of creative resources - from simple print to high impact multi-media - to help keep the Story captivating and consistent, with extra coaching (on-line or in person) available if required.
